The Passion

Throughout my journey of obtaining my Master of Science in Entertainment Business I have learned many things. First I have learned that when starting in this business, starting from the bottom is building the roots to a potential successful career. Some people struggle with doing what they believe is “the dirty work”, but if you prove yourself along the way, the connections that you could possibly make could help elevate your career to another level. Second, you can never learn to much. Always be open to learn and take advice, the industry continues to grow everyday and the more you are willing to learn, the better you would be against any competition. Last but not least, fight for what you want. No body can take anything away from you unless you let them. If you want something in life you have to fight for it. In this industry people fight every day to get to the top. You have to have a love and passion for it and remember that hard work, no matter what they work is, will pay off in the end.  I am blessed to have learned so much this past year. I am excited for the new possibilities not only because I have the educational background to do so, but because I know what I want. I am not afraid to take what is rightfully mine and if I work hard in this industry, I know I will be successful without a doubt. When I think about the entertainment industry I think about the passion and dedication that it takes to see it succeed. From movies to music to even sports, passion and hard work never lack in this industry.

My Business Plan

Creating a business plan takes a lot of research, insight, and drive. Over the past month I had to really think about what I wanted my business to be, how I wanted to be different from my competitors, and what I hoped to accomplish through my business plan. When going back and reviewing the expert’s outlook on a great business plan, I definitely took into consideration some of the things that they mentioned. I wanted to come up with a spin on an old idea, create something that was groundbreaking, create a team that could work together to provide the best possible service, and most of all make my business plan stand out. I actually presented my business plan to a friend of mine and tried to give a brief description of what I wanted my company to do. After some harsh words, he really made me realize that when trying to sell a business who have to be as thorough a possible. It is vital that you give all the information that would help someone want to invest and see you business grow. The experts said that it was important to stand out. Realizing this I attempted to re-pitch my business. I gave him a step-by-step breakdown of what we hoped to accomplish and what new ideas we could possibly bring to the market that we are entering. He was definitely impressed.  The more efficient you are the better chance you have of someone seeing your dream and working to make it a reality.
